The Story Behind FlowGroove
Hi, I’m a solo developer who’s played in cover bands for 10 years.
The Problem
Every rehearsal was the same:
- Paper setlists that got lost or coffee-stained
- Someone forgetting to write down the BPM
- Arguing over key changes (“Was it F#m or Gm?”)
- Switching songs taking 5 minutes while the band stood around
- No sync between my phone, the guitarist’s tablet, and the drummer’s laptop
The chaos was killing our vibe. We spent more time organizing than playing.
The Solution
So I built FlowGroove.
It’s the tool I wished we had:
✅ Simple — Add songs in 3 seconds
✅ Fast — Real-time sync across all devices (<500ms)
✅ Works offline — No internet? No problem
✅ Auto BPM & key detection — Type the song name, get the data
✅ Stage-ready dark mode — High-contrast for dim venues
Why I Did This
No venture capital. No corporate team. Just a developer who plays in a band and got tired of the chaos.
I built FlowGroove between rehearsals and my day job. Late nights. Weekends. Lots of coffee.
Now you can use it too. Free for indie musicians.
The Legal Side
FlowGroove is owned and operated by Sounding Doubts - Unipessoal Lda, my company based in Amadora, Portugal.
- NIF: 518200736
- Address: Amadora, Portugal
They handle the legal stuff so I can focus on building.
What’s Next
- iOS app (working on the Apple Developer License)
- More integrations (Spotify, YouTube for auto-metadata)
- Advanced setlist features (transposition, capo support)
- Band collaboration tools (shared libraries, comments)
Support the Development
If FlowGroove helps your band, consider supporting development on Ko-fi. Every donation keeps the servers running and the coffee flowing.
Thanks for reading. Now go make some music. 🎸
